Dontcha mean ya'll? If you weren't from a Yankee state, you'd done already know how to talk.
I used to keep a little log book. Kept meticulous records, like what I ate last, the time of day, as well as vitola scent, and texture of the cigar. Then I just stopped one day. For one, I found little need to take note of a cigar I didn't enjoy (which, at the time, was quite a few). If I had something I enjoyed, I either make a mental note, or make note of it within my profile here on CS. If I really thought it was something exceptional that maybe not a lot of people get to try or are familiar with, I do a little review here.
But honestly, I rarely smoke the same cigar more than a couple of times. Sure, I have my favorites, and when I'm in the mood for something familiar and consistent, I'll reach for that. But more often than not, I'm trying something new. I'm not interested in creating a comprehensive like/dislike list. Too many variables. For example, when I first started smoking I tried a Partagas 160. Couldn't get into it when I started. Enjoyed another one a few weeks ago, and loved it.
Bottom line: do what you think is best for your own tastes. These are just mine.
I find that my palate is greatly affected by food, drink, medication, etc. I have found some sticks to be downright nasty only to try one some time later and enjoy it. Now don't get me wrong, there are some hopeless cigars (Thompson Manolete) that I will never like. So keeping meticulous records might actually be a self-defeating attempt at organization.
Or... you can start a review thread like the KC/DW world famous review thread and put it up there for all of us.![]()

This was a good thread about people who do log.

Bill,
I have a spiral bound lined pad like this for when I do reviews. I can usually fit all my thoughts onto one page, and tape the label to the bottom.
I haven't considered doing this for cigars I'm not doing an official review on. It is time consuming, however, it makes you focus on the smoke, and at a quick flip through, you can see the "overall impression" at the bottom.
On the other hand, kinda like Mark is saying, if its bound to be one of your favorites, you'll make a mental note when you smoke it.

I try to keep a record of what I've smoked, especially if they're new to me.
I made a journal for myself using Lulu, it's available from my website (see my sig) or just download a sample page there as well.
I really didn't do it to make money, but I figured it would be something useful for me and my buddies.
Just a stay at home dad (retired until I choose otherwise, thanks Canadian Army medical pension) hanging out and enjoying the good life.
No, I don't. I got out of the "I have to smoke every cigar on the market" mindset a while back. I know what I like. Occasionally I'll try a couple of new things. If I like 'em I remember. If I don't I remember.
Besides, how many people really refer to a log when they're deciding on what cigar to smoke?
I keep a notebook that has the band from each smoke glued into it with notes written next to the band. While I have my favorites, I like trying new cigars, and the notebook helps me remember what I liked, or didn't like, and why.

I kept the cigar journal when I started and really enjoyed the hobby. I think it is a good tool for the occasional smoker. The more that I smoked, the less often I would take the time to log the smokes. Now, I never log them unless one is just amazing and want to remember...
I went as far as buying a notebook.
The first time I tried to keep a record in that notebook was my last! It took away from the enjoyment and relaxation of the smoke.
If I want to review a cigar or find one that I really enjoy I just write a couple of notes on the back of the band. I do keep three band jars. One for the smokes I didn't enjoy, one for the cigars I enjoyed, and one for the I'm getting more of these!
