Chicagoland Herf 07/10/2005

A group of us are getting together this Sunday, 07/10/2005 for a "herf". For those of you new to "herfs", this is where a group of cigar smokers get together to smoke and trade cigars, talk and enjoy beverages and food. It's a great time! If you've never been to one, you don't know what you're missing.

It will be at:

FOX AND HOUND SMOKE HOUSE
1416 N. Roselle Road
Schaumburg, IL 60195

It is very easy to get to - it's right off I-90 and Roselle Road exit - heading south (on the west side of the street about 1-2 blocks down). We're planning on being there around 1:00 PM. We're usually there until about 7PM or so.

Fox and Hounds is a VERY cigar friendly establishment. There are large TV screens all over the room, several pool tables, darts, large comfortable leather chairs and couches - a great selection of drinks plus reasonably priced food. They even have their own humidor (but I've never had to worry about that since there are plenty of cigars floating around at the event).

I think at least the usual 3 will be there for sure - myself, AlexGTP and GTPHphale (from CigarPass). It has been put out as an open invite to several other boards. We're hoping to draw like we have in the past - about 20 or so BOTL's. (The more the merrier!)

I hope to meet some of you guys!

Take some pics bro.I hope you have a hell of a time. I am going to Maine later this month to herf with Oldrover and the North East bunch (HP)

I tried visiting HP and saw it was down... Is it back up and running?

I wish you could make it, bro... I would FORCE you to smoke a good cigar!!!

I'm not sure about the usenet thing - I have never been on those threads... In the Cigar Boards, the term "herf" is widely used and means a group of us banding together to enjoy cigars. Everyone I've ever been to is a good time!!!

i don't think i'm going to be able to make it either. i'll be at the opening weekend at the renfaire. i really want to come though. well, i'll have a smoke while i'm there and i'll be thinking of you all having fun.

but then again, my wife is going to be in chainmaille so it evens out. have fun!

the only thing that i know of is some Cigar Expo at the track near by, but thats not until october, but i'll sure be checking it out. Make sure you let us know how the Herf went

well what a coincidence...
i'm probably flying up to see my grandparents in evanston on saturday...

i dont see why i couldnt go to this herf on sunday... not sure if my grandparents would let me borrow one of their cars tho... and i dont know that i could stay the whole time...

I'll definently try to make it if i can...

Alex - that describes half the place...

To find us - walk into the burgundy room and look for the guys sitting around a huge pile of cigars!!! You won't miss us - we'll have all kinds of dress boxes, otter boxes, and there is usually someone at "the Godfather's" feet begging me to sell some of my cigars (the regular patrons who have no clue why we have such a huge pile of cigars).
