Here is a band from a suspect cigar. The band seems legit to me, but the cigar's construction seemed sub-par...

To me i really don't mind if a cigar is a fake or not as long as its a good cigar.

If it taste like trash and i get no enjoyment at all out of smoking it then ill be pissed.

With mine, the main thing that is suspect to me now is that the embossing is not nearly as pronounced as it is on this site http://www.friendsofhabanos.com/foru...hp/t43647.html

If they're yours and you're good with them, fine. However, sometimes they come up in passes or trades, and that's when the shit hits the fan. That's the recent point of all this.

They would have fooled me. The only thing that would have caught my attention was the suspicious vendor.

The band looks pretty good, but the bottom half looks a bit too yellow. It could be the scan job.

Yeah the scan is a little off - the original looks a tad more orange-ish.

A very generous father of a friend of mine gave me a bunch of nice looking smokes this weekend, among them were these 2 lovelys, just wanted to see ya'all's opinion of them.

    Thanks

Now. I'm no expert by any means. But the monte looks suspect.
The lettering type set seems off. Too thick.
If it's newer than 2006 I would say "Fugazi"
But like I said, I'm just an old broken down Irishman. What the fuck do I know.
Cohibas I know little about. I've always tried ( I repeat tried) to stay away from them
due to the conterfit issues. Just my two cents.

Cool, thanks for the input. He said he had them for like 10 years, so I don't know if that makes the difference in bands. Anyway, they were free, so I'll smoke em' either way.
    Thanks

Yes, the age is extremely important and verifying authenticity is almost impossible without knowing what year the cigar was produced. Bands get redesigned.
