i tried microsoft access and that cigar briefcase program, i didn't really like either of them for a cigar journal, i prefer just a regular journal, that's just me though.

I'm sorry - Alfred begs to differ with you... The cigar program he "researched" is "Wonderful", "Fantastic", "Exciting", "Unbelievable", "Incredible", etc. You really shouldn't be posting negative things contrary to Alfred's research... He might get offended...

Jotting 'em down would be a good idea-I'm not consistent enough on the net to take good notes as it is.

Scroto's trying the "ignore" strategy again. That oughta last about two hours
    TBSCigars - "On Holiday"
Grammar - It's the difference between knowing your crap and knowing you're crap.

uh.......not really. All I said was that jotting stuff down has its advantages as well. Nothing more, nothing less.

If that's all you said, Alfred, we wouldn't be commenting on your post. But you again went into a "research" mode, scoured the Internet for useless tidbits - posted about some software you've never tried - commented how it was "Fantastic", "Wonderful", "Excellent", or whatever adjective you used - even though you've never used it. Seems like leg-humping to me again.

I'm sure the people in this thread would like an HONEST opinion about cigar journals, not some made up evaluation of some "research" you did on Google. Knock it off, Alfred.

Back on topic... Sorry for the threadjack, but Alfred here is not going to let a thread with a new person in it go to waste if there's leg-humping to do...

I have purchased a journal from one of my local cigar shops. It was a bit pricey, but it is kinda cool. It's a small three ring binder with dividers for the different ratings. You can put the cigar band in a sleeve on the page. It has a rating system based on a reasonable scale of YOUR tastes. At first I kept a log off ALL the cigars I smoked, but I've found as time has gone by that I prefer to put the Premium smokes in the journal. Especially because I like to keep the "cool" bands. Plus, I think it will be cool for my kids to have a handwritten journal of mine way down the line.

I hope that answers your question. My journal is not "Fantastic", "Wonderful", Stupendous", etc. - just interesting.
