    Default Lent

So this past Wednesday was Ash Wednesday and for you Catholics you know what that means! Baseball Preseason.....and Lent. I struggled hard with deciding this years abstinence and settled on Cigars (The Horror). Locked up the Humi and threw away the key until April 24th. (Most likely midnight of April 23rd though.) A couple of positives are that I will continue to stock the humi and by then I should be up at bat for the Puro Pass IV. Today, Day 4, has been my toughest day so far. In order to take my mind off it I figure I pose the typical Lent question.

For those who participate in Lent what have you decided to give up or take on this year?

    I'm giving up drinking.

I gave up booze AND cigars last year. That was a disaster

I have on good authority that Sundays don't count in lent Each is a mini Easter according to the church.

Lent is 40 days. If you do the math, Sundays are excluded.

They never told us that when we were kids?

They have a discussion about here, but I believe he is correct.

I'm doing this one again this year. Having a Sprite tonight with cigar, which is.... unusual.

LOL. Yeah, I've been pretty "good" this year. The weekends, the beerz usually ramp up, so it will definitely have my attention during those times.

We traditionalists will be eating lamb. Ham seems so passive aggressive

I have never seen this board discuss such things. I think it is really fantastic. I have never participated in lent, but I do have a relationship with The Man. I am not a fan of the "showmanship" of religion (not knocking lent, but the fakeness, and uptightness of the average church).

Again, I think it is great that you are participating in this. Because regardless of the differences in opinion regarding technicalities, it's nice to know you all observe, practice, and particapate in some way.

I think that will be all I will have to say about that. :)

    Back to cigars.

Well, we're not supposed to discuss religion. I guess I shouldn't have bumped this thread, since the same tabooness came up the first time.
