    bwahahahahaha....
What does 100% real mean? The cigars I have are from 100% Cuban tobacco and two people couldn't tell difference between this 'off the shop' and a real Esplendido (smoked 5 minutes apart). But honestly I'm no cigar 'expert', I had just about 40 of them in my life so maybe I just don't get it. Or maybe you guys are fooling yourselves that there is SIGNIFICANT difference so you can masturbate over your cigar collections while in fact you are being ripped off. I don't know, I'm just asking...
BTW my 'Esplendido' was under $2, how much do you get yours for? :)

    Definitely.

But we've heard this song before. "I got these cigars for a great price" - "The waiter at my hotel told me his brother works at Cohiba" - "Why are my Cuban cigars glowing?" A quick search on the board will reveal many similar tales.

The choice is now yours - you can smoke them and enjoy them, or throw them out. Me personally, life is too short to smoke crappy cigars - I'd pitch them, and in the future, make sure to only deal with reputable dealers. This shouldn't be too much of a hit if each stick was less than $2. You're in denial.

Big giant I'm about as far from an expert as a person can get and I only had to take a quick look to assume they are fakes.

And, I don't know how much Esplendidos are, but I now know Esplendiblows are under $2 a stick.

What does 100% real mean? This is what I know, which apparently you've not yet learned in your vast wealth of experience in smoking those 40 cigars.

Espendido's for under $2 are not even remotely comparable to the Esplendido's sold through legit vendors for their actual price of ten times what you paid. If you and "two other" people could not tell the difference between this "off the shop" and "real Esplendido's", I'd suggest that all of the cigars you're smoking are fake. Then again, if you're only in cigar smoking for the "deal" you're getting, you could not possibly understand the pleasure of smoking a cigar that costs $20+.

Personally - the primary reason I spend $20+ for "legitimate" cigars (not off the truck) is to avoid having "green spots" and other less pleasant issues with my smoking experience. I want to enjoy the cigar, not wish I had to gargle with Listerine after I'm done. And you really don't have to "masturbate" to understand that concept, unless (of course) your knuckles are dragging on the pavement.

I read this thread with a big smile on my face...

Guess at the end of the day, everyone is thinking they can get a deal of the century but truth is, it doesn't happen. I learnt that the hard way too myself. Thankfully, I found a source in Shanghai who deals Cudan domestic (his dad living there since the 60s) and he sells these bandless Cubans and give them number tags on the box. Rarely you find great ones but all of them are smoke-able. But they aren't $2 after transportation costs factored in and neither they glow in the dark nor develop colored stains that would intrigue a NASA "deep space life form" specialist.
