    Default Cigar Events.

So guys I was wondering, because I've never actually been to one, what happens at Cigar events. I'm assuming a rep of the company comes and gives out deals on cigars, but is there anything else to it?

The reason I ask is there is a Rockey Patel event coming to a local smoke shop, and I was thinking about taking a short day at work to attend it.

You pretty much nailed it. Rep might have a freebie cigar ,deals on their brand
This is where you meet a rep and see if he is a true cigar guy or a salesman of cigars and if the shop is worth a shit too. My Friend Nate was a rep for Oliva but he was killed a year ago in a car crash but he was a hell of a friend and put on a good event too.

Go check it out its a blast

    Yep, what Kevin said.

My shop has events maybe every other week, but a lot of them are events I'm not particularly interested in the product. They had a Ashton tasting event the one time. You got 3 robustos, and you had to light all three at the same time, and rotate smoking them while the group discussed the tasting notes. I'm pretty sure we all failed, but it was fun.

And yeah, the deals abound. I got some Ashton aged maduro #50s (I think, they were the robustos) for under 4 bucks a piece by the time I walked out of there.

I've also heard the RP events are pretty good. I'm still waiting for a semi-local Padron event....

RP puts out lines regularly - nothing new there...

And RP is one of the brands that seems to really like to do events. I don't recall ever hearing any complaints.

Any other brands that seem to love to do events.

Being in Denver, and new to the cigar scene in general I don't hear much about cigar events.

Any special etiquette I should take into account? I'm assuming that it would good to smoke the cigars I get at the event, but what about bringing my own RP cigars to the event?

Also, my girlfriend was thinking about going with me, because her father is into the RP lines, and was thinking about buying him some cigars at this event. Anyone think it would be a problem if she smoked a cigarette while we are there, as the shop is a tobacco shop in general and sells them? Normally I would ask that she didn't but because she's wanting to buy from them, and the shop has no issue with it, I'm at a loss.

I am not the dress up kind of guy. Jeans ,t shirt ,flip flops. Walk in like you own the place but dont be a douche, smoke whatever the fuck you feel like and buy whatever you feel like. Tell the GF to smoke her cigs ,anybody besides the shop owner says a fucking word quietly roll your Kershaw in and out of your fingers and grin . Ive been to Charlotte events where there were blue collar dudes like me all the way up to some pretty powerful local people and it was a blast.

When at a crowded event never and i say never lay your cigar down in a ashtray with out keeping both eyes on it the entire time.

If some fucker picks it up and start smoking it dont ask for it back

haha and here I thought there was some unwritten rule. sounds like it's going to be a blast for us. I might even get a friend to go who is unsure about cigars

I ended up not going to this one. I ended up having to stay late at work and missed the whole event which sucked. However, I can always save up some money and catch another event at a later date.

Even i love these kinds of events in which we meet cigar users about the taste of cigars, quality of cigar and many more things even we3 could enjoy over there with different aspects of cigars.
