Did you properly season your humidor? How long has it been in use? How many cigars are in it? Once you've stored cigars in the humi for a lengthy period of time, the tobacco will overtake the wood smell you are experiencing.

I have a coolidor as well, and like Bill, once I got it set up and filled with cigars, boxes, and beads, the only thing I smell is tobacco. I did clean my cooler out very well with bleach and let it air dry in the sun for several hours when I first set it up though.

I have had my humidor in operation since approximately May 2011. Mine seems to have a nice balance of wood and tobacco smell now. I can still smell the wood, but I don't notice that my cigars smell like wood. I think that the humidor will smell more like tobacco the longer it is in operation.

Keep your humidor full and give it time the cedar smell will go away.

My cooler has no smell at all i cleaned it properly and let it sit in the sun all day with the lid open.
