  1. Default Just saying Hello

    Hello Everyone,

I've been visiting the site for several months now, and finally decided it was time to join in some of the Fun. A little bit about myself. I am 27 yrs old, been smoking about 1-2 cigars a day (depending on finances) for the last 7 years, work 2 jobs one of which is at a cigar store.
I live in the northern part of California, sorta by Oakland. I'm a quiet type so if i dont post much, or often, or answer questions, or answer with very short answers, don't take it personal. ( i only say that because I see that type of stuff has upset a few of you in the past.) More about me, to all you "would be" flamers I am well aware of the fact that i suck at spelling . I am not a member of any other forums (just never felt the need) so if there is any rules or regulations that I should be made aware of just let me know as I break them .

Some of my favorite Smokes are:

    Padron 1926 - anysize
    Padron 6000
    Padron 3000
    A.F. Cuban Belicoso
    A.F. Don Thomas No 2
    Cohiba Extra Vigaroso - anysize
    Cohiba Sublimes
Most Montecristos - with my Fav being Cuban No2 (of course)
    Partagas series D -any size
    Hoyo Dark Sumatra
    All Opus X
    All GOD OF FIRE
    Trinidad Extra Rubusto

    And My all time Favorite:

San Cristobal de La Habana -any size

I know I forgot a few. There is just so many Cigars I like, and I like to change it up from day to day.
So now a few questions for you all. I need ANY feedback that any you of you might have with absolutecigars.com. I'm thinking of ordering and want to make an informed decision.
Heres a weird question, some days as of late, it seems as though i cannot fully taste my cigar. like my palate or taste buds shut down. Do any of you have any tricks to clearing your tastebuds, palate or what ever it is that is keeping me form fully enjoying that cigar? I understand you might need more details to help me with that question, just ask away and maybe we can narrow down cause and solution. I forgot what else I was going to ask . oh well.

    Thanks for your help

Welcome! We're really not that much of a flaming board - even though it may appear so. Sometimes we just gotta poke at one another - it's a brotherhood kind of thing. Some people take it more seriously than others - just let it roll off your back like water on a duck...

As far as taste buds shutting down - that could be a lot of things. If you're smoking 2 cigars a day, your taste buds may be acting weird when you smoke two cigars - or it could be you smoke a very flavorful cigar, and then a not so flavorful cigar which would almost seem bland to you. I know there are certain cigars I've had that are very subtle in their flavors, and if I were to smoke a strong cigar ahead of smoking the milder on, the milder one has no taste to me (i.e. the Partagas green labels). Those types of cigars really require you to smoke it with nothing at all on the palate (no food, no drinks, no nothing). I usually have the cigar with only a glass of water if I think or hear it's going to be that way...

I have also noticed my tastes change depending on my moods. I think I've gotten to the point when I really only smoke cigars when I feel like smoking cigars - not because I have some kind of nicotine urge to do so. Also, certain weather conditions seem to me to change the flavor of the cigar (hotter vs. colder, more humid vs. less humid, rainy vs. dry, etc.).

    Anyways, enjoy your stay....
