Don't worry about the mule, just load the wagon.
Welcome! We're really not that much of a flaming board - even though it may appear so. Sometimes we just gotta poke at one another - it's a brotherhood kind of thing. Some people take it more seriously than others - just let it roll off your back like water on a duck...
As far as taste buds shutting down - that could be a lot of things. If you're smoking 2 cigars a day, your taste buds may be acting weird when you smoke two cigars - or it could be you smoke a very flavorful cigar, and then a not so flavorful cigar which would almost seem bland to you. I know there are certain cigars I've had that are very subtle in their flavors, and if I were to smoke a strong cigar ahead of smoking the milder on, the milder one has no taste to me (i.e. the Partagas green labels). Those types of cigars really require you to smoke it with nothing at all on the palate (no food, no drinks, no nothing). I usually have the cigar with only a glass of water if I think or hear it's going to be that way...
I have also noticed my tastes change depending on my moods. I think I've gotten to the point when I really only smoke cigars when I feel like smoking cigars - not because I have some kind of nicotine urge to do so. Also, certain weather conditions seem to me to change the flavor of the cigar (hotter vs. colder, more humid vs. less humid, rainy vs. dry, etc.).
Anyways, enjoy your stay....

Well I would like to thank you all for your fast responces.
Ggiese, I think that you may have a point with the two cigars a day, one being one so flavorful that the next one just doesn't do it, but it also happens sometimes on the first cigar of day, sometimes on an empty stomach, sometimes on a full stomach, sometimes after lighting with a torch, sometimes with flame. Thats why I am so baffeled, and looking for the advice on cleansing my palate. Maybe a nice flavorful drink to wake up my taste buds or even going as far as to brush my teeth before hand to make sure whatever flavors were left over from the I had meal before hand were totally gone. Have you tried any of these methods? Now that I think about it, some of the times I have been unable to taste the cigar my mouth has really dry before hand. That type of dry that not even water will take care of. Going crazy
I learned along time ago to only smoke when I am "really in the mood" and have the time to enjoy. So I totally agree with that piece of sound advice and think that it should be passed on to anyone who just starting out in this world of ours and even to those who have been having "a lack of enjoyment" as one of my friends would put it. To me good Cigars are sorta like a form of meditation, I would even say possibly a regilous experiance. I can't count how many times I've been having "one of those days" and all it took was a Series D and an hour and a half to relax and enjoy it, and the day got turned around.
