I'm several hundred miles away from New Orleans and people are traveling up this far just to find hotels to stay at. Not to make light of a bad situation.. but some parts of New Orleans could use a good wash down and air out for a while.

Sure sounds like you felt it was amusing...did New Orleans get a good enough "wash down and air out" to suit you? Especially considering the fact that they are now calling for a total evacuation of the city as they can't get in to help the people that are still there? Considering the fact that it may be under water for weeks, and even perhaps months? And considering the fact that New Orelans will never be the same as it was? That most of it's charm and history are probably gone forever? Perhaps your advice to those that live there is "to shrug it off?" Perhaps they shouldn't let it bring them down either? That your advice for them, bunky?

TheSilentChamber, I agree that there certainly is nothing amusing about this situation. I have friends in N.O. that I still haven't been able to get ahold of. I can understand trying to lighten the somber mood but the fact that you can't even admit that your post was inappropriate (at the least) just goes to show your maturity level.

Every city has their less atractive side and I am sure that parts of yours could use a good washing itself. In the future, why don't you try THINKING before you post!

Accually I saw something very funny about the tsunami other day, cant remember what it was- but yes it was indeed hilarious. As for the way I think - its completely normal. Its everyone else thats off cue.

I was talking to a couple that is staying in this area due to the hurricane, after talking for a few mintes the guy said "well, atleast my property value has gone up since its beach front now". Yep...never any doubt in my mind...we need to promote him...new title and all..Moron 1st Class...so far I'd have to say he's the biggest jerk I've run into on any board I've ever been on in my life and I built my first homebrew computer in 1978 and was on the Arpanet before it became the Internet...that's 25+ years of computing, running into jerks and this board has the honor of having the biggest one...this person (I won't call him a man as he's not) has to be the most unfeeling, callous jerk I've ever communicated with if you can call his idiotic ramblings communication...I want to wish on him what's going on in NO, but I just can't do that sort of thing...what an A$$...

I saw this as well. I can't imagine having to live with the fact that I had to let my wife go.

TheSilentChamber, is there something "hilarious" about a man having to release his wife to almost certain death? What about a man having to explain to his children that their mother is gone because Daddy couldn't hold her anymore?

1. Sorry your not allowed to practice your 1st admendment rights here Slient, I guess my time in the Service only protected a few peoples rights, but not yours.

2. Who here is a psyh major?...Or even a doctor for that matter? EVERYONE deals with stress, loss, pain, etc....differently! Not going to get into to much detail (because this board is very unforgiving) but I have a Serious Illness that WILL KILL ME. what do I do to deal with it you may ask...LAUGH. There is nothing anyone can do for me, and they've tried, painfully they've tried. Mom Cried, Dad ...well hes a guy but I know it got to him, Wife Cried but keeps a smile or her Beautiful Face for me and the kids. Friends don't know how to handle it some laugh with me, some act as though it does not exist. POINT...Bashing people for they handle situations like this one is inmature, arrogant, and just plain stupid.
