OK, first of all don't slam me for this, but how would keeping the embargo keep the prices from shooting up? Now I don't know a lot about politics, but I would think that if you have something that isn't illegal anymore to us normal (and I use that term loosely about myself) people the prices would go down. I am wrong in thinking that way?

Oh yeah... I am *NOT* wanting to cause a big political debate here. Just asking a simple little question.

The embargo keeps a lot of people in the dark about the mysterious "cuban cigar". If they were suddenly legal in the US everybody would want them. Demand will skyrocket and prices will rise because the more people that want something the more valuable it becomes.

I think there would definitely be a period of madness where people would be running out to get "Cubans", but I think that would die down a bit over time.

I think at least part of the draw of cuban cigars is you're not allowed to have them. Eventually the novelty will die down.

Yeah I agree. I can see the price going up, but once everyone realizes that they would be able to get them anytime that they wanted then it would slowly taper off and the prices would go down in the long run.
