My best buddy was up visiting from FLA and we had a few RyJ Black Label Anniversario Torpedos. I had forgotten how good they are. That will be my next box purchase!
Yeah.....I'd give em' a 90. But of course any rating is subjective.
Very smooth, slightly creamy, medium bodied. The classic RyJ "tartness" as I refer to it is mellowed with a little sweetness.
Excellent cigar.
this week's smokes:
Sancho Panza Double Maduro Cervantes - 89
Padron 2000 Maduro - 91
You are what you eat. That's why I'm a fat bastard.
Bolivar Belicosa- 90
MonteCristo #2-85
C.A.O. L Anneversery Belicosa- 89
Sancho Panza Double Maduro, Cervantes - 88 - same consistent smoke that could be one of my regulars.
La Gloria Cubana, Wavell Natural - 85 - big disappointment. expected so much more. one dimensional smoke, like slightly bitter espresso. didn't keep me interested at all.
El Rico Habano, Habano Club Natural - 93 - this one definitely made up for the bad LGC. full bodied, with deep flavors and aroma and loads of spices. loved it!

While I love the high dollar stogies my newest everday smoke is Trinidad y Cia ( corona ). I smoke 3-6 a day every day and found this one from JR's to fit the bill.( I think their less than 15$ for 20 ) It's a sandwich cigar that burns great with a smooth flavor. As some of you might remember I smoke 3-6 stogies a day and for my wallet I have to have an inexpensive daytime smoke. After the day is over I get a cold one or a three finger JACK and smoke a better one. I like Baccrat and Punch. I While I prefer them there is no way I can huff 35-45$ a day. Sorry guys, i'm just a working man with expensive taste, but I will make do when I have to. GOD bless ya'll who can afford to smoke the good stuff reguraly.
Go for it Rick

St. Dupont Reserva Especial Robusto - 90

I smoked a Don Lino Africa last night. Was an okay smoke. I would say medium building up to somewhat full at the end. Did not change flavor throughout the smoke. Could not really pickout any specific flavors (see my post - Developing your palate). The burn was very uneven and I had to re-light several times. I would not get another one at the price I payed.
So there is my poor attempt at my very first review. lol. Hope it is alright.
