That has to be the greatest fear a parent can have....knowing that something bad can happen to their children when they least expect it. This tragedy is heartwrenching.

Finding good daycare is hard enough without having to worry about your child's safety as well. My daughter's daycare has a double gate system to all playground areas with a bullpen area (fenced-in walkway) between the gates. These areas are visible from all playgrounds and are monitored by a single person whose job is only to monitor the comings and goings of all children. It looks a little like a prison in many ways as the fences are six feet tall. I used to wonder if all that were really necessary, but now after hearing this story, I feel thankful for the daycare facilities advanced thinking.

I can't and don't want to imagine how I would feel if something were to happen to my daughter like this. I hope you can find a new provider Kenyth.

That is terrible. Prayers are out to the family.

We had a few instances of things like that in Memphis lately. One where a child was left on a day care bus in 90 degree heat and died. Another where a day care bus driver was smoking marijuana. He crashed the bus and killed a child inside.

Good luck in finding a good day care provider that meets your expectations.

It's a shame when things that could have been prevented happen. Your kids are the most valuable possesion you have.

    An update.....

Doctors started bringing him out of the drug induced coma yesterday and he was moving all around.

Doctors said that he suffered NO BRIAN OR SPINAL CORD INJURY and should be going home tomorrow!!

    Everyone’s prayers have been answered!!!
