    Default RIP Syd

I'm not sure how many of you are Pink Floyd fans. Syd Barrett, the founder of the band passed away. I grew up on Pink Floyd and have listened to many of his solo work over the years.

    Rest in Peace.

    Very sad......
I'm not big on doing reviews, tobacco doesn't taste like "cocoa" or "nutty" or "mocha" to me, it tastes like freakin' TOBACCO. I know what I like and I really don't care what other people think of other cigars. I've never read a review and said to myself "Wow, that sounds like a cigar I'd like to try!"

Truly sad. I listen to the "Madcap Laughs" quite a bit. I am honestly shocked that Syd did not pass sooner with all the drugs the dude took.

Truly a loss in the Rock world. Pink Floyd is played at my house almost daily.

I'd pay hard earned $$ to see that tour.

Well, I have to confess my ignorance. I've had Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, The Wall, wore out an Animals LP, and had to buy another one. I saw them after the Division Bell album (not their best). Although I've always heard Barret's name, I've never been aware of his influence until today. As a product of that era, it is highly possible that I just "forgot." Anyway, I intend to check out that early stuff now.

Oh yeah, the concert I saw was sans Waters. And yeah, I'd pay high $ to see a show that includes those final four.

BBC's Newshour did a spot on Syd this morning.

I can't find the podcast anywhere, but it might be posted tomorrow.

    This really sucks.

I used to listen to these guys quite a bit. I was "under the influence" most of the time I was listening to them, but I'm sure I really enjoyed thier music.

One of the best and most underrated albums is definitely animals, I love it. If you really want a taste of Syd, listen to the early singles when Pink Floyd sounded a lot like the beatles.
