"If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair." -C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
By outdoor movies do you mean like a drive in? We've got a drive in thats pretty close to us and I'd pay the same movie prices to go to it. Its more about the experience IMHO.
If you or anyone else isn't sure if you have a drive in close to to you, check out this link

We have a drive-in in a town about an hour north that has been there forever. Over the years, it became the "last one standing" and has become so popular (that and its huge restaurant-style snackbar,) that the owners opened a brand new one in the town where I live. Both places are pretty retro - about the only difference from the old days is FM sound instead of post speakers on wires.
Oh, and they're about $3 cheaper to see opening weekend movies.

I wish we had one near me but nope..
Dolby Suround Sound probably would be missed but it would still be cool!
We have a drive in....in the middle of the ghetto. It is nice. I would park my ambulance in there while on shift to watch movies for free. I just have a VERY hard time dealing with the lack of dolby digital and THX certifications.
There is supposedly a drive-in in Maryland somewhere, I think by Baltimore, but I don't know more then that. I like the idea of outdoor movies. It’s a shame I wasn't able to go to these outdoor films, a couple of them I'd really like to see. If I canmy own thread, I think my big thing about these outdoor movies is that on a nice night, I'd rather watch TV or a movie outside then indoors. Several times in college we contemplated turning the TV around and facing it out if a window so we could sit in the yard and watch it outside. A great idea during the football and grilling seasons. If any of you college guys do this, let me know how it works out, I think a flat screen would be better b/c of glare.
