After my recent flight, the TSA agents declared that my Xikar cutters was safe to take on the plane. Not the scissor type either. I was worried about it as I have one in my checked luggage and the Casa Fuente one with my carry on bag. I asked the TSA agent and he turned to his Supervisor and he said its ok. Then I had to go through the Super Secruity line and talk about a hassle. It red flagged the machine and after inspecting it, they said it was good to take on. I hope that helps you out as I just flew Sept 4 to Sept 9th, 2006. Kansas City, Mo to Cinncinati, Oh to Las Vegas. Then from Vegas to Denver to KC, Mo.

And if you have any doubts, contact the TSA agents at the airport to verify.

It really depends if you are flying out of the country and back in. As each country allows so many cigars. I just flew in state with at least 100 cigars and didnt have a single problem. All in my carry on.

TSA has told me within the last month that Guillotine cutters are ok.

HOWEVER, I'm not sure all TSA know that and who knows what you might go through with a local agent. I keep a cheap one as carry on and put any good ones in the checked baggage.

At least consider having a good mailer, preaddressed and stamped to mail it back to yourself. I'd hate to lose a good cutter...
