Yeah, but it doesnt seem like a hard choice for me. Sometimes change is for good. I have time to decide what I want, but its not a decision just for her. Its also for me. I spend too much money on cigars as it is, and I need to be saving money and getting out of debt for stuff I need to do.

Ill let you all know what I decide.

Im hearing you there brother. I think when I dont have a morgtage, I will feel more comfortable spendig money on cigars. Thats 20 years away though. If you think its for the better, then thats your opinion, and good on you for coming to that. In saying that, you have paid for these already, so just put em away, and let them sit. I am cutting right back till my home loan is alot lower, but I sitll have them, and smoke em occasionally. As has been said before, you may need time alone (shit, I sure have) and its a perfect way to relax.

End of the day, its your smokes, your life, and your missus, so what you do is up to you. Good luck, and Happy Days!

    Yeah.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -unknown

in my opinion, you were looking for all kinds of support saying.."yeah...get the babe...screw the cigars,yada,yada,yada.......you didn't get that here...from anyone....

it seems as if your mind is made up....get rid of the cigars...when she dumps you because of some little thing that irks her...come on back and tell us how bad it was.....as i stated earlier...it's time to man up...

Take it from someone with past experience. Don,t ever change from who you are into someone your not for a women. If you want to quit for yourself then fine but if you just met her and she is already trying to mold you into someone else it will just get worse. You will wake up one day and say to yourself " Self, what the fuck have I become and why? Be yourself and enjoy life. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Now, I have a new boss that is awesome and also have a girlfriend which I think is going to last a long time.

She doesnt like me smoking or drinking, but didnt ask me to stop, it was my decision.

Bit of a change in those two post. As BPP already said... sounds like you're trying to justify it to yourself and us differently now.

Stopping smoking cigars is going to help you get out of debt... you must smoke a ton... then again I only light up maybe 4-6 times a month normally.

What do your friends (IRL not on the web) think of her? What do your friends think of you giving up booze/smokes? Whatever you decide to do is your call but I think most of us agree you're making the wrong decision.

There is somebody out there who will take you just the way you are. Don't get wrapped up in the infatuation thing too much. That goes away and you're left with what you turned yourself into (notice that I didn't say what "she" turned you into. They are all choices you are going to make.) And don't be in too much of a hurry. Getting married ain't like buying a car. For those of us who have been through it, it is either going to be a lifetime partnership or a tremendous heartbreak if it goes wrong.

Step back, light up a cigar and take a drink or two. Let her reactions guide your decision.

Remember, the day is going to come when you are going to get tired of sacrificing the things you want just so you please her, and you will resent the whole situation.

    Husband store

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    This is so true...

A store that sells husbands has just opened in New York City,
where a woman may go to choose a husband.
Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how
the store operates. You may visit the store ONLY ONCE !

There are six floors and the attributes of the men increase as
the shopper ascends the flights. There is, however, a
you may choose any man from a particular floor, or you may choose to go up a floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the
    building!
So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband .

On the first floor the sign on the door reads:
Floor 1 - These men have jobs.

    The second floor sign reads:
Floor 2 - These men have jobs, and love kids.

    The third floor sign reads:
Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love kids, and
    are extremely good looking.
"Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads:
Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love kids, are
drop-dead good looking and help with the housework.

"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!"
Still, she goes to the fifth floor and sign reads:

Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love kids, are
drop-dead gorgeous, help with the housework, and have a strong romantic streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 6 - You are visitor 4,363,012 to this floor.
There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please.
Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. Watch your step as you exit the building, and have a nice day!

HAha, yeah that was my post.

I had actually thought about stopping smoking before I got back with her. Getting back together with her was just a good reason to do it. This thing with this girl isnt someone I just met, its been an ongoing thing for about 7 years now.

Cigars arent a big part of my life as it might be to some of you guys so its not too hard to give up. I dont drink alot either so that wasnt really a problem either. In my mind, its just a couple small sacrafices that I could make to make something else happen.

Im sure you all love cigars, but have they ever loved you back?

Wait wait wait... getting back with her... ongoing (and obviously off going) for 7 years. Anybody else hearing those loud ass annoying warning sirens?

My cigars love me back everytime they touch my lips.
