It was the same exact situation with Oblik, Scroto, PuroMooch and MANY others that have come here. In those cases, their actions on other boards was EXTREMELY relevant in CigarSmokers. Hell even BananaLand has now come around on that position. Remember neuroticdancer who spewed pretty much nothing but vile and vulgarity here then goes over to BananaLand all nicey-nice like he's some kind of "good guy"

Well even the elder banana eaters whacked his little pee pee on that one.

I don't think we need to know how he's acting over there. We already have plenty of evidence of his actions on this site.

And as far as Oblik, Scroto, et al... DVM's is a much different situation than with them. It is my understanding that they were unknown quantities here but their objectionable actions were known on a different site.

In DVM's case, he is a known quantity here. The closest analogy I can make in this case is warning us about a tornado that hit two towns over while we are picking through the rubble of our houses that were destroyed 20 minutes ago.

On the contrary, not only was Blodick a KNOWN quantity here, he was a freakin' moderator.

Scroto was a known quantity here who was acting all nicey-nice to those who weren't really paying attention but a few of us knew who devious and twisted that little bastard was and we had to keep pointing it out because no one was listening at first. At the end they sure were....

Regarding Barry, your analogy is pretty far off. Here's one for you that works much better: You own a company and you find an employee is stealing from you. You give him a two week suspension and tell him that he can come back then. In the meantime, he goes to another company and starts stealing there too where one of your employees also works a second job. This guy who works for you and the other company finds out and he tells you and the rest of your employees. Should you tell him "I don't want to hear it because it didn't happen here!!" or "Thanks for letting us know!" I vote for answer #2.

Getting back to your analogy, since the "tornado" in our case is scheduled to come back in two weeks, do you want to know if it's still acting like a tornado or just a harmless puff of breeze? I don't know about you but I'd sure be interested in knowing if it's still a tornado.

If barry was acting like a good guy on CigarRebellion while he's serving his two week suspension, I'd be reporting that too (in the same manner that I updated our community about FPDoc77) but he's not.

Bill - I do you have a point. However in this situation Hex has made his opinion perfectly clear and He as also publically stated what his next steps are.

Hex has been very fair and even-handed in his approach. I don't think cigarsmokers has anything to worry about with Barry. One more of his "posts" and he is gone.

At this point you have laid out the relevant history clearly and anyone on this forum who wants to educate themselves certainly can do it here.

For what it's worth, I'm in agreement with Hex and fully support his position on this.

And not to slight you or your opinion in any way, I think this should be left to die.

Bill - a thief is a thief. There is no change despite the fact they've been caught and punished. No matter how straight they act after returning, there's going to be trust issues for quite some time.

If/when Barry returns he will have to curb his nastiness. There's absolutely no doubt about that. Maybe he'll be able to - maybe not. No matter what - I don't see him being your best friend afterwards. And that's okay - he doesn't have to be.

But - Hex has made it very clear he will be intolerant of continued nastiness. No doubt in my mind, Miguel is very serious about that. So I believe we should wait and see what Barry does when/if he returns. In the mean time - let's get back to enjoying the peace and quiet we have for at least the time being...

I see no reason we can't have peace and quiet...Even if Barry comes back to spew his hate. If we simply don't respond to it he will either go away, be forever banned, or stop spewing it.
