Default Please Excuse My Bragging, but........

Many of you know I love to cook. You may also know that although the Bride is a decent cook, she hates the kitchen.

So, I told her I'd cook New Years dinner on one condition, she stayed out of the "Cookin' Room" (as I like to call it) and keeps unsolicited criticisms and advice to herself.

Well, I cooked an 18 lb turkey (my first time ever cooking a turkey) with all the traditional trimmings and I was so proud of the way it looked when I took it out of the oven, I had to get the camera and capture the moment for posterity!!!

While the pictures don't do the size justice, take into account there was 5 cups of rice stuffing in this bird!!!

I am enjoying the weather down here finally!! Highs in the low 50's the past two days. Finally I can go out and enjoy a smoke and not have to worry about mid 70's and high humidity

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FUCKING WINTER!!!

i jammed my left index finger last nite and i think i'm gonna have the worst day because of it. I'm the only one here at work, and I'll be here a while. My co-worker, who took off yesterday because he had a funeral to go to in Arkansas, also called in today and said he was having major stomach bleeding problems. The thing is, this guy got caught 2 weeks ago lying about being sick. He didn't get his story straight with his wife. He left a message on the machine and said he had to take his son to Memphis to pick up perscriptions and all this stuff. Then his wife calls up here and asks for him. I had not listened to the message yet, so i say he's not here. Later my boss gets here and calls her and she said he's at home sick and that he had left a message on the machine. busted. So i don't know how much i believe his stories this week, they're pretty out there. All I know is that it's screwing me over.

he's already missed 4 or 5 days and he started at the end of Nov. I've been here almost a year and have missed 1 day. i was dog sick.

I have a feeling he won't be here much longer, which sucks because although he talks slow and loud, he's a decent worker .... when he's here.
If he doesn't get his loser ass fired soon, leave and find somewhere where they don't take advantage of you to such a huge degree. I can't stand people who act like this. I get this all the time, yada yada yada I'm sick, my wifes sick, my kids are sick.....and it's always the same people who don't have a work ethic to begin with.

haha, ya. here it is 1:45. i'm still the only one here. boss hasn't made it in yet. i had to order a pizza because I was getting weak. then i had to eat the pizza while fixing one of my boss' and co-worker's mistakes that had to be done within an hour. and i've got a bunch of stuff promised out today that's probably not gonna make it. i promised it out thinking that some other people might be responsible and get here on time. i mean, i had to be here at 8:30.

While i've been typing this, I've had to stop and help three people. Now it's 2:20.

    this is ridicolous.

Are you still in need of a good cutter? I got a Xikar Xi2 for Christmas. Damn that thing is sharp! I'll never bother with anything else.

    Good Morning all,
Had the trip to Tulsa to do today. Smoked a Gispert maduro churchill on the way down. I sure do like these sticks!! Nice, good flavor, but on the mild/medium side so its perfect for me as a morning smoke with my coffee....ummm, ummmm, good.

I come down here at least once a month, but haven't had the opportunity to look for b/m's here yet. Does anyone have a suggestion in the Tulsa area? If I have time today, I may just hit the yellow pages and go look a couple over if they are close enough to the office.

well, i'm at work again. boss decided to show up kinda on time. co-worker called in sick again and we're swamped.

get this, yesterday I was working late and was fixing to leave. the boss had uploaded a bunch of pictures to my desktop a while back and I decided to look and see if i could delete them. As i was opening them up, he comes walking up and says "Whatcha working on there, Partner?" Like i was just goofing off. I got so pissed. I was like "ya, you uploaded all these pictures to my desktop and now i'm deleting them, oh and I also just got done getting all of my work orders in order and on one sheet of paper so that i can come in tomorrow and be organized." I was thinking, Ok what time did you get here? 3:00pm. I was here at 8:30am. Where's Marcus? Oh, he's sick ... again. He also didn't bother calling you. He sent me a text message at 7:30 in the morning. This makes 5 or 6 days for him in a month and a half, not counting times he's left early. On top of that it was 6:15pm and i stayed to work over. We usually get off at 5:00pm. Man, i've done got upset again.

Ok, on a lighter note, we got practice tonight and i'll probably go home and after that and smoke something. I meant to bring a stick to work, or my pipe, and relax for a bit. I could really use it.

I'ts not that cold here, but I got sick anyway. Kind of hard to avoid when your wife gets sick three times in December, hacking and sneezing. I guess my immune system got a workout i n December so by January I caught it too. Ah shit, no enjoying cigars when you've got a virus, cause they all taste like SHIT.

getting all these dang bands and trades sorted out. boss walked in and had to hide it all. very nerve racking, but i got it all done. shipping out everything at lunch.

my day is gonna be packed full of me trying to look busy and find something to do. we've been extremely slow around the shop for some reason.

tonite i start the color work on my arm. sweet.
Sunday morning about 5:00am, i got up and walked into one of my Gurkha tin signs. put a pretty good gash on my tattooed leg. probably will have to get it touched up. sucks.

    yup.

I hate tatoo touch ups, I got mine done and didn't take too good care of it and the artist made damn sure I knew his displeasure at not taking care of the healing tatoo. I think I have ink in bone under my shoulder blade.

You know a great way to get rid of a pain in your shoulder? Drop a bowling ball on your foot.

You know a great way to get rid of a pain in your foot? Stab your shoulder with a needle.

As for me, I am home sick today, but wil soon me going back to school. Any more absences in my first or last hour classes and I lose credit for the semester, so I had to go in for the first class, leave, and go back at 1:30.

    Have a good one.
