you might be a little fresh for cohibas. best way to try new smokes is hop on to the Newbie Sampler Thread, and i hate to do this to you, but sign up at CigarBid.com. as far as beads go, i would go for the heartfelt beads. i know nothing of cigarmony's stock, but 90% of the folks here can vouche for the heartlfelts. do a search on it, you will find plenty of happy customers.

Those just coming on the board don't know whether you are new to the board or the hobby. All they know is that you've been here longer than they have, and to a new smoker that makes you an expert. I have learned a lot in my time here but I still consider myself too new to cigar smoking to be giving out advice on what sticks people should smoke. And when I do write an article on something that might help others it is something I have experience with and/or have researched thoroughly.

Keep up the enthusiasm and keep up the newbie reviews. But remember there are plenty of folks here in a position to give out advice that has been gained over time through first hand experience. And they are very willing to share with us newbies.

He was in no way pulling a "Scotty" who would lead readers to believe he had first hand experience with cigars when in fact he did not.

From time to time we've seen blowhards on these boards who love to hear themselves talk when the fact is they have no idea what they're talking about and maybe I'm missing something (though I highly doubt it) but I don't think Chris falls into that category or deserves this condescending lecture Shelby.

Not to toot my own horn so to speak, but before I joined any board, I read a lot. I wasn't 18 and felt it wouldn't be in good taste to register before I could legally purchase cigars. That does not mean I didn't read.

I know both of them have quality beads, and are also of good character because I have read many posts by both of them. The reason I chose Cigarmony is because I can save on shipping costs by making a larger purchase from one vendor rather than multiple purchases. Aside from that single fact I feel both of them would be a toss up from what I have read.

And onto the Cohibas now. How would they compare in strength to one of the Brazilias? they are pretty much my favorite right now.

Also...I realized I need a new cutter pretty bad tonight. I think mine is starting to get dull because it completely dominated the Wrapper of my CAO gold. The good news was I smoked an AF Rothschild instead.

I just want to say that Newbies giving advice to Newbies about ISOM's or Domestic Cigars is a little funny.

Here is something that I noticed...

I would like a new cigar cutter, and haven't tried any cohibas yet. My local B&M has this set for 55. Are the cohibas worth it or should I just buy a palio or the Xikar seperatley for less?

I personally have not smoked one. I have two (ISOM) in my humi. From what I have read, they are more full iou might be a little fresh for cohibasn body, and being a newb, i'm still in the medium phase right now. I will smoke one soon, possible this week.

Another thing i have read is that Cohiba's are best aged as you will get a "grassy" taste if smoked to young. If you let them age, as with anything, it mellows and blends. I, cannot speak on this for myself, but read this from a trusted BOTL.

Plus, for the price, you could spread your money around alot better.

Now, there is nothing wrong with people offering their opionion. However, Chefchris you are talking about "young" and "grassy" and ISOM's. Meanwhile, unless I missed something, Pwnstar590 was talking about Cohiba's from his local B&M and unless he's in Canada, which it says "near the windy city" in his profile so I would say near he's near Chicago, that would mean that he's referring to the Domestic Cohiba's. Domestic and ISOM's are two completely different ballgames. You are comparing apples and oranges.

Again, I'm not trying to slam anyone. Just please, when you are offering advise, please be aware of what you are talking about. Ashauler read "you might be a little fresh for cohibas" thinking that you had experience with them. Then you say "I personally have not smoked one". Which raises a large flag in my mind. Please, just be careful when you are replying to posts. This is not just towards Chefchris, but towards all new people to cigar smoking.

Once again, I don't see ChefChris doing this at all because he never misled anyone and when asked, he immediately qualified his statements acknowledging when he had no first hand experience or whatever.

My opinion came from what I read on this message board. It is all totally searchable. All I did was sum up what could have taken him a bit to find.

Cohiba's are usually known for their fullness, and their prices. All I suggested was that maybe he should try something more mild.

Since when does my opinion not count on things that I've purchased myself? I bought from Viper twice, and was pleased both times. Can I not suggest Viper's beads? What does it matter to me who YOUR friend is, or who YOU bought from? That has no effect on MY opinion. I, in no way, put down cigarmony.com ("i know nothing of cigarmony's stock"). I explained my positive feedback that I had with Viper, and that was it.

I'm not trying to start an argument, but this is frustrating me.

I made two suggestions:
1) More Mild Cigars
2) Heartfelt Has Good Beads
and you guys are acting like i'm misguiding him. like i'm absolutely blind.

You guys just want me around for jokes?
