Yeah, Happy F*&king New Year. Why is it that when the kids f*ck up the parents get to pay?

OK, so I think I'll start with a mild cigar since it's been a while. Maybe one of those Ghurka Expedition's, they sound good. And I think I'll even have one WITHOUT walking the dog. Yep, I'm going to actually sit my ass down and read a book, have a beer, and smoke a friggin' cigar.

I can relate, but with an exception. My daughter's husband just walked out on her. She was 7 1/2 months pregnant at the time. Now she is back living with us but she is a joy to have around. In our case it was an in law that screwed up and through no fault of her own, she is back living with us. She is a joy because she is one of the few in my family that doesn't complain because I enjoy a good cigar.

Well, I STILL haven't gotten around to having that cigar. Today's the day for sure!

It's been damn cold up here but today is warming up. Yesterday I went into town at about 3:00 and it was still only 43 degrees. We had a hail storm 2 days ago and today there's still hail on the ground that hasn't melted.

But then again, I was up at the Yuba River last week (about 2000 feet elevation higher than us) and THAT was freaking cold!

But today it looks like it might even hit 50 degrees so I'm going to go have something to eat and smoke a damn cigar.

Dang, I haven't had a cigar in over a month and I still just bid on 2 more 5 packs. I'm weak.

Dru, if you keep posting nature photos of your neck of the woods I may have to come raid the area and camp out

Nice area to walk and smoke I would imagine.

Monk: Come on down after the last weekend in April when Trout season opens.

When I was at the Yuba River everyone I met was a fly fisherman waiting for the season to start.

Here's The Yuba river going through Downieville.

And here's what you see of you look straight down from that bridge.

Yeah, we got some fishing here.

sweet view from that bridge ! Yeah my brother is a big fly fisherman. Damn, I need to get out camping! Been waiting for winter to arrive up here, it is a bizzare winter so far. Barely any snow at all and hardly below zero. For up here that is a worrying example of global warming. It should be windy and -20 at least

I can certainly relate to you on the cold. I just relocated back to Mississippi from Rhode Island, and I can tell ya, it's a lot easier to enjoy a cigar in 70 degree weather than it is this time of year up there.
