You guys crack me up.![]()
Many people prefer port with cigars. At this point, I've tried a very limited number of ports and the one's that I liked I can't remember what they were. There's a guy on CW who has a recommendation for a great inexpensive port to go with cigars. I just sent him a PM and I'll post it when he sends me a reply.
Others like cognac with cigars. I would NOT recommend cheap cognacs because they taste like crap. I won't waste space here giving you guys a cognac "primer" but just trust my word here that you should try a nice XO rather than a VS or a VSOP. They are more expensive but they are worth it. If you don't want to shell out the $$ for an XO, buy Remy-Martin VSOP.
As far as wines, for white I like Pinot Grigio. I don't like Chardonnays and I hate Riesling, YUK![]()
For reds, I'm not a shiraz or a merlot fan. I like Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

Well, it didn't take long for DocRKS to get back to me about the port. Here's what he said:
I remember that it was the best port I've had (again, my experience with port is very limited) with a cigar. I trust DocRKS judgement in this department.Graham's LBV (Late Bottle Vintage) 1997 --- still available but getting harder to find - tons of the 1998 available --pretty good as well.
Aprox $ = $15 -$17 per bottle.![]()
I personally prefer a nice cup of coffee or just water.
maybe this is just because i havent been drinking the right kind with my smokes, though.
With glasses high, we raised a cry - freedom had arrived
i've been sticking to mineral water for the most part. i'm always smoking before bed so coffee'd be a bad idea. i drink wine before i smoke, though. i find that during, it takes away from the flavor. as does anything that has a flavor IMO. i think water makes you taste the cigar so much more.Originally Posted by Yeagermeister
thats why i started drinking water with my cigars, i could taste them better.Originally Posted by Drake
Most definitely a dark rum. Straight. Havana club 7 years is a damn fine one for example. Failing that rum and coke with plenty of ice, relaxing on a sun-drenched beach.....Ahhhhhh.
