I have heard some horror stories of people getting chinese characters tatooed on their bodies only to find out later it means something totally different from what they were initially told.

This very thing happened to Britney Spears. The Chinese alphabet is so extensive, you could get 20 different things from one character depending on who was looking at it.

The important thing is, it's stupid.
