Well I am an Eagle Scout. Did the whole thing, from Cub Scouts to Webeloes to Boy Scouts. My dad 'encouraged" me the whole way. I did not need much encouragement until I got a job and a car at 16. Needless to say, my interest began to wane, and I was halfway to Eagle.
He did a lot of pushing to make me finish. I resented the hell out of him at that time but now I understand why he did it. And I love him to death.
There's only two kinds of cigars, the kind you like and the kind you don't.
Sounds like you went the way of my son lol. at 16 he was more into cars and girls I tried to get him to stay with it but the kids at school raged him and he dropped out ..But I would not have missed the scouting experience for nothing in the world.
Sounds like a great DadYou would be shocked how many kids do not have that push they need

The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -unknown
