Well I am an Eagle Scout. Did the whole thing, from Cub Scouts to Webeloes to Boy Scouts. My dad 'encouraged" me the whole way. I did not need much encouragement until I got a job and a car at 16. Needless to say, my interest began to wane, and I was halfway to Eagle.
He did a lot of pushing to make me finish. I resented the hell out of him at that time but now I understand why he did it. And I love him to death.
Ditto, I had a great time but then I begin to get distracted. My dad 'pushed' me to finish, and I didn't like it much, but now, I'm pretty proud of it and I'm glad my dad didn't let me quit.
