Like Blkcloud and Monk said, I don't think using alcohol was a wise thing. It might do something to the cedar. All I know is, the only thing you can wipe in your humidor is distilled water, everything else can stain or do something horrible to the wood.

Make sure your temperature in your room doesn't go above 75 degrees. The higher the temperature, the more moisture in the air. Most likely, it was too hot and there was too much moisture in your Humi, so much that your humidification system couldn't even prevent it (or you put too much distilled water for the solution or the beads to soak excess moisture). Once temperatures reach above 75 degrees, your humidification system will not work as efficiently as a cooler temperature. You may want to get beads also, if you are not already using it. Good luck.
