    hey welcome from CT

i am very surprised that there are a lot of young cigar smokers, 18-24. when i first started smoking i felt like i was doing something that i needed to wait to do until i was in my 70's. sorry but cigars just cry out "old man smokes". so what can i say, i guess i am an old man! (i am 23)

Welcome from CT X2. La Vieja Habana is a good line.

    Welcome from TN!

The folks here are amazing; a veritable treasure-trove of information. You're lucky to have stumbled across it.

Yeah, I noticed the lower age demographic of a lot the smokers here too (I'm also 23). What brought me to cigars was about 50% the actual cigars and 50% the effort it takes to really enjoy the experience. I love all the little nuances about the lifestyle: the collecting, the history behind the different brand names, the upkeep of a humidor and, of course, the sharing of a good smoke with friends. True, we're young, but maybe we're wise beyond our years? Or maybe I'm an asshole?

    Cheers,
    Sean

Well I had the grades to get into anywhere I wanted pretty much, but I decided to pursure a baseball scholarship to a junior college. I'm playing at Cisco Junior College which no one has ever heard of and the environment isn't real great. I'll either be transfering to UT or Texas A&M next year. Not to sound like a prick, but some where were I'll actually have a challenge and the environment is better

Wow, I had to go check back my posts to see if I said anything about La Vieja Habanas(I don't think I did). I bought 5 a while back for like $1.50 each and the are really a great cigar perhaps one of my favorite. I used to take one with me when I went fishing and I really enjoyed them and their price tag. It's too bad they are discountinued and they're hard to find now.

Thanks guys for the welcome. I'll try not to be too much of a stranger around here

I know where Cisco JC is. I'm up and down I20 all the time. Good luck there, and hope you get x-ferred like you want. Sounds like you already live in Texas - what part?

I actually live in Austin, TX but like i said I go to school in Cisco which is 3 hours north of me and then I drive 2.5 hours further north to Oklahoma so I can see my girlfriend who goes to Cameron University. She also lives in Austin too.

I lucked out that Austin(home town), Abilene(45 minutes away), and Lawton(girlfriend's college) all have very nice cigar shops with full walk in humidors. Austin definantly has the nicest one though(Habana House)
