I live in an unairconditioned dorm during the spring and fall semesters... during the hotter months my room will easily get into the mid 80s during the day. I've found I can keep my cigars in the mid 70s range by putting my tupperdor in the bottom of my closet and opening the closet door at night when its cool and closing it during the day, slows down the temp change...I know my cigars have gotten up to 80 for a week or so before I figured out the closet thing, never had any tobacco worms show up

I wouldn't worry about the temp. until it gets above 80. The rock idea sounds interesting as long as the humidor is sealed, a rock should cool the air inside and then take it out.
