Corvin! Welcome from Toronto![]()
You up at base Borden? Ahhh the memories... (Been to the Rocks lately?) What's up with Blackdown park these days?
Anyhow, first of all. Get a larger humidor than you think. It will fill up fast even up here. You are dead on about the prices but box splits and other things will fill it up. I make trips now and again down to Buffalo (Herfed with some of the guys on here down there as well) and have been given great info on where to shop so splitting on boxes is an option in the future. Feel free to PM me with any questions, I pass through Barrie all the time (My parents are in Parry Sound) and its not that far from Toronto anyhow. Enjoy your time here, remember to respect the FOGs and be tolerant. Hope you enjoy your stay with us!

Welcome from DC. What do you do in the Canadian Army?
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -unknown
I have to admit I found this comment to be in poor taste Chris. Especially considering my wife is German and I take things like "Nazis" damn seriously. IF you want to go down that road we could have an educated discussion regarding current US policies and actions and their comparisons to the rise of the Third Reich but that would be stepping out from "Joking around". I know you are (hopefully) joking but please don't use words like Nazi loosely and kindly never make this kind of comparison again. My Grandfather fought in Italy, and most of my great Uncles landed on D-Day at Juno. I find these days people use the word without thinking about the millions and millions that died. Even German soldiers who fought in the war and had no nazi affiliation deserve more respect.
Besides, the Third Reich didn't have donuts!
Thanks dude,
-Will

Like others have said and it says in my profile, I'm a Signal Operator. Basically, I run the radios in combat arms units (Infantry, Artillery, Armored, Combat Engineers) or in a garrison situation I run the computer networks and radio signals (things like transmissions to ALERT close to the north pole).
Right now I'm in CFB Borden building a personnel tracking system and pulling cable when the line crew runs short of able bodies.
Just a stay at home dad (retired until I choose otherwise, thanks Canadian Army medical pension) hanging out and enjoying the good life.
Actually it's the Roxx and I avoid that place like the plague. I prefer McReilly's Pub, you should try it out the next time you stop in, it's next to the Queens (another of the bars that are plagued with idiot college kids).
Blackdown is pretty quiet this time of year, it's pretty much just a cadet camp now so only ever really active during the summer months.
