I know the topic of this thread has been a bit all over the place, but I thought I'd throw this in in a response to a previous (rhetorical?) question.

The PA senators are an interesting mix because the Republican (Arlen Spector) is pro choice, and the democrat (Bob Casey) is pro life.

I always though that was pretty interesting and I'm not sure why it hasn't gotten much press.

    That is interesting.

I'll probably vote dem for prez, based on today, but I'm not sure who. Hillary is low on my list.

Politicians in general can't be trusted to always represent their final goals and ambitions, regardless of political alignment. They speak to the concerns of the audience they are addressing, Republicans and Democrats alike. Our job, as voters, is to sort through all of the inevitable political pandering and hype and make the best choice we can make. Politicians in general do and say what they have to do to promote their agenda, even it means double talk and back pedalling. Maybe not all, but most. Besides, issues change over time and as we are presented with more information, our views should mature. Politicans are no different. They can change their mind just like the rest of us. A view someone held two or three years ago could have legitimately changed based on new information. I'm a Republican and I'm not a fan of Hillary, but she's no worse than any other politician from either side of the aisle.

nancy pelosi did ban cigar smoking from outside the house chamber room. That was a travesty. Cigars as I know it are still allowed in the oval office.
