I just bought my first humidor. I have seasoned it, and the humidity is 73 is that right temp?

Humidity and Temperature are different.
Get a digital hygrometer and it'll have both readings. If you have an analog, it'll only give you humidity, which should be around 60-70 RH (relative humidity). People prefer keeping humidity @ 65rh.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. The humidity is 72
buy beads.
Here
Do a search.
Dare I say that at least 95% of the people here use them with no complaints.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?
Definately humidity in in the region of 65%RH and temprature below 70F
I thought it was a tampon joke!
I echo the bead suggestion. I've had them for a couple months and they have been awesome. 65% from heartfelt and you'll be set.
I think the beads are the best. I got the 70% rh beads cause i open my coolers alot and coolers dont seal too well (IMO) I also read 70 degrees (temp) & 70% rh was the ideal way to store cigars..but to each his/her own.
Hi,
Thanks everyone.
Hi -
So the reason why you want something around a 65% relative humidity (RH) is because it closest resembles the native tobacco climate and, (why you should care) is that most folks (including me) find that sticks around there are optimal for smoking. At the end of the day, different people like it at different RH - some like it around 70, some like it 60 - figure out what works for you.
The beads just allow better RH regulation.
Keep the temp under 70 - over 75-80 degrees and you're looking at tobacco beetles hatching in your humidor. 70 is also the temp that closest resembles the native tobacco climate (caribbean).
Good luck.
Look at that... I plumb got myself 5 raisins and 7 termites.

rh of 70 guess you never been to T&T where 80 to 90 is more like it
First off, learn how to quote someone if you're going to do so.
Second off, thanks for mentioning T&T - no I haven't been to those particular islands, but thank you for enlightening me on the temperature in the Caribbean. I would never had known it's that warm all the time (insert sarcasm).
Re: the 70, something I dug up just for you:
"As a product of the Caribbean, cigars do best in a tropical climate similar to the conditions under which they were created. The consensus is that storage is best achieved at a temperature of 70 degrees (F) and at 70 percent relative humidity."
Thanks, please come again.

you could just use Mauied's idea and place a water baloon in the corner.
