Yup, that should be fine! Just as long as you are using beads to humidify them, and they are in a good area where temperature doesn't fluctuate severly (below 60 or above 70 degrees) you should be fine.
You don't have to have a humidor to keep cigars in. It's just a nice display piece ontop of a desk or any other furniture. In the end, you will end up getting a Coleman cooler and create your own Coolidor (it seems like you are already in that stage, having no more room in your humidor).
Just as long as the container can seal enough to keep the humidity stabalized, you can use anything you want. Good luck.
