Smoked an RP sungrown lancero while walking the mutts last night. I'm glad I only have 3 of these fuckers left. I like the sungrown, but this vitola has been a pain in the ass through the whole box.....tight or plugged, cracked wrappers....just a regular pain in the ass.
I thought the little sticker on the back of the plastic wrapper had said Robusto so I looked. It doesn't, all it says is "5000 Maduro. It is about the same guage as the H Upmann Reserve Maduro Robusto beside it in my humi, but it is noticably longer (right around 6" in length). Would I be correct in guessing that's why it's called an "extra"?
I look forward to trying them all, the natural's, 2000, 3000 etc!

Yeah. I understand a robusto to be a 4 7/8 x 50 cigar. I also notice that generally companies call a 5x50 a robusto (i.e. the 2000). The 3000 is a little longer, and a little fatter....5000 fatter yet.
All that said, last night I had that Room 101 corona & a CT 59 50yr short churchill.

Today's morning smoke was a Opus X the robusto size one. I was never crazy about the first 1/2 inch on these. Great taste one puff then bitter the next. After the 1/2 mark it's a nice cigar that I enjoy all the way down to the nub.
Great way to start the early morning off.

A few puffs into a Rocky Patel Cuban blend robusto with a glass of the ol' Glenlivet.
Gran Habano 3 Siglos--Pretty good, but I like the Vintage 2002 better.

6 months in the humidor have done wonders for this cigar.
Box date of OCT 09. Six months ago they where a bit harsh.
Now cool volume of coffee, cream & chocolate.
Drink - Red Breast Irish Whiskey

I'm going to an event at our local B&M for the new line of La Aroma De Cuba. I guess that's what I'll be smoking this afternoon at least! Has anyone tried these yet?
Last night, a buddy and me took down a pair of Anejo #49's. Fantastic, long, and meaty smoke![]()
