    Morning Chef,

Was wondering if this lighter had a name?

I am indeed looking for some new lighters. I've owned a Colibri Vortex, and it went to crap on me in about a month, then I had a Prometheus, and it lasted about 2 years, and is not going to crap on me...Frankly, I'm tired of dropping 75-100 bucks on 'nice' lighters.

I'm looking at Xikar right now, as they have a lifetime warranty, and those darned Germans sure do make a fine product typically. However, it's still going to set me back 50 bones.

So...long story short, yes, I'd like to try a 1 dollar lighter :)

    Cheers,

    Mark

don't believe it has a name. but if you get one, look at the warning sticker. The first word, "Ignite", is spelled wrong.

I'm a big fan of Bic's. I buy a 5 pack at Wal-Mart for $4. I tend to loose lighters.. a lot, I just grab another out of the bag and off I go.

That and most of the refillable lighters I've seen go through butane pretty quickly. It's a pain in the ass to refill them all the time.

Exactly!! Walgreens has them on special every couple of months, buy one 5 pack get one free or sometimes buy one get one 1/2 off.

I use bic lighters probably 95% of the time. I like the flame more than the torch. I use the torch in the wind.
