    Default Couldn't make it

To all those in Houston for the RTDA that went out Saturday night, sorry i couldn't make it. Hope everyone had a fun time.

My father had a heart attack late Friday night / Saturday morning (~2 am). Spent the weekend in the hospital and is scheduled for a double bypass surgery tomorrow morning.

That's awful news. My brother-in-laws father-in-law, who lives real close by and I see regularly, had a quad by pass about 2 month ago. I always thought he looked fine, but now he has a lot better color in his face and a lot more energy. I'm hope everything goes well and he is back on his feet in no time.

Sorry to hear that, I sure hope that your father is doing better. We missed you at the pub, maybe we can hook up at another time when you're not dealing with such serious issues,

Well I'm sitting here at the hospital with my laptop (who knew hospitals had wifi) waiting on my dad. A nurse came out and said everything was going fine and he should be out of surgery in a couple of hours.

    Thanks for the thoughts.

GREAT to hear! It's a good thing bypasses are done routinely now days. Makes these surgeries alot safer.

My dad had a triple bypass back in late 2000/early 2001. Luckily before he had a heart attack. He's still with us today, seven years later, and he's going to his cardiologist. He's 70 and I keep crossing my fingers. Best of luck to your dad, and hang in there, it's a tough experience for him and you but you will get through it.

So my dad was up on his feet today, albeit only for about 30 seconds, but its a good sign. Doctors say it was a textbook opperation and he could be released as early as Sunday. According to my dad, the incision on his leg hurts more than his chest so i know he's back to normal.

Time to go smoke a good one.

My dad was in ICU for about five days before he got into a hospital room, they had lots of trouble stabilizing him. It was certainly the most traumatic experience of my life so far, and I'm sure it was worse for him, so I'm glad to hear your dad is doing much better.
