Beer lover and maker here. I am still new to the beer making. I am on my 5th one. here is my list so far.

    1. German Light Style
    2. Humboldt Honey Weizen
    3. Bavarian Weizen
    4. Summer Ale (peach flavored)
    5. German Alt Bier(to be bottled on 1/13/10)

Trying to find a good beer to go with a cigar. I'm not much of a liquor drinker.

I prefer a nice heavy imperial stout with my cigars over the lighter brews.

Double Bag rolls in at 7.2% & is pretty thick on the palette. That ain't no slouch. Actually, Long Trail makes a lot of good stuff (the only one I don't like is their IPA.) Yeah, it's not 12%-19% imperial stout...but really I find an IS overpowering flavorwise to a lot of cigars.

No, but damn, some of the reviews look good and make me want to.

Yes, several times. It tastes almost identical to my Oak Aged Bourbon Porter. Pairs very well with a Camacho Triple Maduro.

My wife bought me a bottle in fall 2009. When I tried it, it tasted a bit harsh (too much alcohol bite). Part way through I saw on the label that it was best enjoyed after November or so of 2010.

So, I bought another one and let it sit for a year. When I tried it a month or so ago, it was awesome. Very smooth and previously absent flavors came out in bloom.

I tried a pint in a pub a couple weeks ago. I assumed it was a more recent batch than what I'd had before. It was good, but not as good as the aged bottle I had.
    Latest smokes:
    Cigar: 5/19: Nub Connecticut 464T
    Pipe: 3/16: G.L. Pease~Charing Cross
