I really enjoyed the smoke and marveled at how "mild" it was, judged by how it didn't burn when exhaled through my nose/sinuses. Great smoke at $5.50 at the local.

Imagine my surprise when I read on CI that it was "The Edge is no doubt one of the stronger cigars on the market: that’s why the ads say ’for professional smokers only.’ "

I know I generally have the sensitivity of a goat, but this has me even more confused than normal. I have had a Gurkha Legend Beauty (ridiculously priced at $30/stick) which I did find too "strong" to really enjoy at the time. Now that I think about it I had a RyJ Reserve Maduro which is also rated as "full" which I also found delightful.

I am clearly unclear on the concept of Strength, strong != full etc.

Any hope for this newbie?
Ahh, the old body vs strength question. Certainly this is a difficult thing to understand, and as a relative newbie myself, I still struggle with it also.

In you example, I too find the Edge to be a medium strength cigar, but it has a full body flavorwise to me.....pretty much the same for the RyJ maduro, though I find it a little less strong than the Edge.

Search around on the site a bit.....I think there is a specific thread here that does a good job on this dicussion.....I'll try to find it and post a link when I get a chance.
