    Default Son uv a beeeee

it finally happened. After nearly two years of carefree cigar smoking and purchasing the unfortunate collision of 4 events have proven to have disastrous consequences:
    1. shipment of cigars arrives
    2. another shipment of cigars arrive
    3. AMEX bill arrives and wife opens it
    4. Wife catches me trying to stuff the new purchases in the cooler (cooler tetris)

    Consequences:
CIGAR BUYING BAN FOR THE NEXT 2 MONTHS

Its a good thing I have most of my purchases shipped to me at work.

I have a similar problem with my girlfriend. THe only diffrence is that she has more of a problem with me smoking cigars. Says she dosnt want me smoking more than a couple a week. So shell look in my humi once and a while to make sure not to many are missing. Apparently shes sneaky about this because I have never seen her do it. Little do she know that along with my cigar smoking problem, I have a cigar purchasing problem. So everytime she opens its full. If she only knew I was going to the B&M more than once a week while shes at work. Some things are just better kept secrets.

Damn those meddling spouses! Sorry to hear about your household cigar embargo.

Seriously though, if you are like most of us, you have more than enough smokes to last two months. If not, I will gladly help you out.

You should consider having your Amex statement mailed to your work as well.

Or you can just limit your wife/girlfriend to the kitchen and bedroom.

Right you are......I have the supply to last through this. Its the will power to avoid all the "great deals" during this period that I'm not sure I have.

Thanks for the generous offer, I appreciate it.

Look on the bright side, at least you didn't get a letter from OFAC.

    I feel your pain though.

Well, I have a similar ban, purchase-wise. Money's tight, and the wife is cracking down a bit. But I am lucky in that she doesn't mind me smoking cigars, and even has one herself once in a while.

You know, if you're in a financial crunch, then everyone should do their part. And, IMO if you're spending too much on cigars then you're in violation. BUT, if the budget is not too bad and I mean like not in bankruptcy, and she is still on your ass, then let me suggest, she is also investing a few clams on some luxury items. Dude, you don't have a chance at the sneaky game. Women have a natural ability that you will never match.

Man, I just tell my wife off if she tries that with me. I ask her how much money she spent on cartons of cigs during the 14 years we were married before I started smoking cigars. Nuff said - I have a lot of catching up to do.

I whore myself out to upper east side old women to pay for our luxuries, my wife is cool with it, they mostly just want foot rubs and conversation.

Not a matter of financial "crunch", all the bills stay paid and the wifey does as she pleases. Nor is a matter of the wife objecting to me smoking cigars. She just used to take my "Boy, this is a great deal and I need these for my humi so I'll have a great variety" at face value......because she really had no concept of how many, and how many different cigars I already had. That bubble has now burst and I must further the wife's education on why it is necessary to have lots and lots of different cigars......and lots and lots of the ones you really like......and lots and lots that you can give to friends and not miss.......etc.....

Ya'll know what I'm talking about.

Yep, chain her to the bed with enough leeway to get to the kitchen.

Make sure you position the washer and dryer between the two.

Women understand "on sale". I too like to buy cigars on sale or some other special price.
Women understand "variety". Just check out some of her collections.
Those two are easy, however, "lots and lots" could be an issue. I like to buy ahead and let them age a while in my humi. I feel this is a necessary step and so the majority of my cigars are aging and will be consumed in due time.
Some cigars are not always available. Buy them when they are available because the price will most likely go up next time around.
Cigars will never loose their value. What, the life of a well kept cigar could be 50 years? Oh, I wish I had some 1958 Dunhills in my humi.
Lastly, explain to her that you intend to seek help for your obsessive-compulsive disorder.

    .
I recently got some Dunhills as our smoke shop started carrying them. I really like them, they are smooth, no harshness or bitterness, they shift flavors several times very subtly, and smoke perfectly. I didn't even know they made cigars until a few weeks ago, I thought they only produced pipes and pipe tobacco.

    Jamie,

This is what you gotta do bro!

    1. Clean the house, OR hire someone to clean it but make her believe you did it.

    2. Treat her to a romantic dinner.

    3. Talk and listen about how her day was.

Booya! You got the credit card back.

    Good luck bro!

This is the one that works best for me. I can get my wife all hot and bothered just by whispering "50% off" in her ear.
