    Welcome from Cali.

About your fears of cutting, make sure that your cutter is sharp. Keep in mind though that if a cigar is dry or not maintained, chances are that the wrapper's gonna crack. Ever think about a v-cutter or punch cutter? Less chance of any mishap.

As far as cigars, might wanna try the Don Carlos line from Fuente. Even Fuente's lower end lines might fit your flavor profile......mild to medium body..sweet, creamy, etc. Also, Cusano 18 comes to mind. Good smoke at a great price.

    Hope this helps. Good luck!

    Welcome from Columbus.

When cutting cigars i had the same problem at first. You should not try to cut the full width of the cigar in my opinion, but rather cut the cap smaller than the diameter of the cigar to help maintain the wrapper. I don't like punch's, the tar tends to build around the small hole and cause a bitter taste.

Some of my favorites you may like include the Oliva serie g camaroon and the cao gold maduro. both smooth medium to light smokes.

also try eating before a strong cigar, it may help with the vomit situation.

I had some cigars punched, but I never really liked those. I never felt like I got a good enough draw out of them.

I'll definitely be checking out those smokes though.

Yeah, that's exactly what I do now when I cut. I've learned to definitely not cut the full width of the cigar.
I've gotten used to the cigars now though. It actually worked the opposite for me with the food. If I ate before hand, I'd puke. But if I ate nothing, I'd get sick in my stomach, but wouldn't puke.

Thanks for the advice on smokes, I'll check them out.

I really want to try a Romey y Julieta though, I've never had one.

And thanks for the welcome guys. I'm sure I'll enjoy my stay.
