His crap is a direct slap at not just me but others involved in the underlying issue which is Barry's nasty, rude, vulgar, offensive, hate filled posts in the political forum and the subsequent discussions which have followed that. I'm taking issue with it and I don't like it, neither does George nor CNB and a couple of others who I highly respect around here who have chosen not to get in the line of fire because they don't want to take the heat from Barry and Sid and that's fine. Now because Geroge, CNB and I choose to get involve, we don't need some noob like loudpipe here ordering us around and if you're going to give him a back slap and a high five for that, you're going to piss me off.

You show me once is his first post of the thread where he took sides in this issue or pointed fingers at anyone besides making a broad statement that any reasonable person would recognise to include everyone involved in this situation and I'll agree with this statement. Trouble is Bill that you can't, so I fail to see how this was a direct slap in any particular face. It seemed more to me to be a guy seeing his buddy's fighting about something stupid and tried to do something about it.

I was warned before coming onto this board to try to be a cool newb, not ask stupid questions, respect the FOGS cuz they know what they're talking about, and to try to soak in as much knowledge as possible. I did that and felt like I had found a good home till the last day or so.


Y'all can keep saying there is a ton of cigar stuff going on and blah blah blah but right now it's like being at a party and having a couple fight in the corner. No matter how kick ass the party is you still hear that couple going back and forth like cats and dogs even if it is off to the side in the other room. You can blare the music louder but you'll still hear them in between songs or still see their actions. I don't know how else to explain it.

Honestly seeing grown ass adults acting like this is pathetic, I'm on some boards where the core member is 18-21 so I'm kind of used to this shit but coming on here I was expecting an older more mature crowd which I found originally but after reading some of this crap... well... get the fuck over yourselves, seriously. As a newb I now have concerns about some of the passes, etc. the actions of a few in a small area of the forum is wrecking the reputation of the majority. I had a split offer all typed up this afternoon and deleted it, why, because I don't know who I can trust. Everyone seemed real cool but true colors are shining through and that put a lot of doubt in my mind. FOG on FOG hate isn't helping anyone and if a handful of FOGS are going at it that have been around each other for a while what's going to happen if I slightly mis-step?

And as far as the statement of you being just as mean I guess that's just a matter of opinion. The truth is I expected all of you to handle situations like this in a much more mature fashion and have since been disappointed. If having that opinion makes you lose respect for me or makes anyone else lose respect for me so be it that just goes to show we weren't that good of friends to begin with. I just thought you and George were better than all of this.

Well I don't agree with your opinion at all and in my opinion, I don't think you're going to find many who will agree with you on that one.

You and loudpipe may think the argument is "about something stupid" but I think you'd be hard pressed to find many members here to conclude it's just some minor, little insignificant "stupid" issue. Once again, the root cause of the problem here is Barry and his vulgar, nasty, hate-filled, offensive, rude, over the top comments he posts on a regular basis in the political forum. You said this:

Now since this community has had this serious problem for quite some time, I finally had enough and I'll be the first to admit, I lost my cool because I finally had seen enough of this behavior which has been going on pretty much ever since he got here. Some of us had comminicated behind the scenes and Sid offered to impress upon Barry that he should "tone it down" and he didn't heed those warnings. Hex asked Barry to "tone it down" and once again, he ignored that request. Not only did he ignore those requests, he brought it up a notch with his "die" kitten avatar. Several members asked Hex to start a ban poll which you'd think might make him realize that he should straighten up but no, if anything he got even worse.

So here we are, a major dust up and his behavior has barely changed. I dunno Nate, do you have any suggestions because in my opinion, Barry's behavior and attitude is still a major area of concern on this board.

Again, if you've got some ideas, I'm all ears.

The problem here is that no one else but you and george are coming forward which makes it look like only 2 people requested the ban poll now as I am not Hex I cannot say whether or not this is accurate. It is hard to send a message with a ban poll that is lost with only 3 guys wanting some type of action taken. I personally think Barry's actions in the politics forum suck as well but I don't really care because I don't talk politics, someone always seems to get pissed. We as a people tend to hold onto our political and religious beliefs so tighly that we'll fight tooth and nail to prove our points.

The only concern I have is with the fighting spilling over to threads I care about and in this sense you and Sid have a history of following people around and making sarcastic comments after you've been in an argument and now George is following Sid doing the same damn thing. It's just childish and needs to stop. Have you ever heard the saying that a real man is the one who walks away from a fight, I try to follow that line of thought. So Barry is a rude asshole guess what most people can see that for themselves and then act accordingly. Like I said before I'd rather ignore one asshole over four.

For the record the avatar Barry put up was very over the line and based on that I may have voted ban but I saw it after the poll was closed.

Barry and Sid don't see it that way - they think they've won. They honestly believe this community really doesn't mind the way Barry and Sid act. They couldn't be more wrong...

Okay - yep - I admit it. I've been following Sid around and making comments. Not that it isn't obvious. But a taste of your own medicine is very bitter, isn't it Sid. Sid tells me my frienship with him is NOW over because I didn't choose his side in this. C'mon, Sid - you really mean that???

As far as who requested the ban poll - Hex and the people who requested it know who requested the ban poll. I think some are connecting the non-existent dots to conclude who may have requested that poll. Well - I can connect non-existent dots as well as others. I'm telling you - it's just as likely that Sid and Barry requested that poll as it is that Bill and I requested it. Then we can follow the non-existent dots to the "why" part - well - isn't that obvious? Jeez - both Sid and Barry are gloating about the "victory".

I'm not trying to draw sides in this dust up. I'm not one to try and draw sides in any dust up. If I have a valid argument, reasonable people will see that I have a valid argument. This is a valid argument. My argument keeps getting lost in Bills posts here - because he's reacting very passionately to what others are saying. The argument is no less valid. Barry is over the top in his comments. They are devisive. Probably very appropriate for a political community where devisiveness is a way of life - but not on this cigar board and NOT in this community, Those comments need to be toned down. They needed to be toned down when Barry first came here (there was talk of a ban poll then) and they need to be toned down now (there was a ban poll started). The community has VERY CLEARLY said they like Barry but they do not like Barry's comments and actions. No one in this ban poll has said, "say what you want, Barry - those other guys are full of manure". Your name is not Lincoln Rockwell and no one has given you license to act like a klan member - spouting off your hateful rhetoric.

Sid needs to be a part of the community - not part of being devisive in the community. Sid - this board belongs to Hex and it's members - not to you and Barry. This in not your personal soapbox. And you can recruit as many minions as you want - sway people to your side because you're a nice guy - you're not going to "win" if you choose an argument that's not popular. Barry's rants are not popular. As I said some time ago, Sid - use your influence with Sid to have him tone it down. And I asked you this in private LONG before this blew up like it did.
