OK - I'm gettin'; kinda pissed at being dragged into a side in this discussion. Do this, and do it now. Take a look at my posts again. Scroll through and read each one. Just read my posts without reading any of the twists and turns that were not put there by me. My avitar is easy to pick out. It won't take long, I didn't post that many articles. Tell me where I said anything in Barry or Sid's defense, except that I didn't want to see him, or anyone for that matter. banned. Hell, I even included you in that statement.
My first post starts on page 5. First I voted no on the ban, then stated an opinion on politics and said that both Baka and SDVM had toned it down. I was told by Bill and Baka that my facts were wrong and that Barry really never toned it down. Well, I thought he did, but how you took that as a statement of fact, I'll never understand. It's purely objective, and a statement like that can't ever be taken any other way by any sane, logical individual. Then I started getting questions thrown at me while I was at work and told that my opinion on the political system in this country is wrong. When I came home I answered the questions. but I did take exception to being told that my opinions were being corrected by someone who, I guess, was supposed to be smarter than me. Then the one directional name calling began (the direction being from you to me.) After that there were a few more tongue-in-cheek posts and I became a "Barry's boy." Even then I really didn't get upset. I was actually kind of expecting it. I remember what you did to NullSmurf. He ended up not answering you, but just felt bad enough to leave. Well, Bill, ya got him, but I ain't him.
Bill, I am not commenting on Sid or Barry or George because they never asked me anything or challenged my opinions or asked for clarification of my posts the way you did. I never stood for any side other than my own. I never said Barry and Sid were good and you were bad, but somehow that's what it's turned into in your mind. All I did was disagree with you, but I guess I'm not allowed to do that without being grouped in with your "enemies." Yes, I am friendly with Sid and chat with him on the phone. He helped me out when I first joined the board and we get along well. But I fail to see how that has anything to do with what went on here. And Barry and I have never met or even spoken on the phone. We had some discussions in the political forum and we clearly don't see eye to eye, but I never tried to agitate him and he never verbally abused me. In fact, I am beginning to see that some of what he said about the war in Iraq is starting to be admitted to by the current administration. It was a discussion. As for George, I have nothing but the utmost respect for him, but I guess in your mind I should hate hime because he and Sid are having a spiff. I hope they can work it out, but they are big boys and can speak for themselves, as I speak for myself.
I must say, I am starting to get a bit pissed about being dragged into a "side" on this issue. I speak for myself and no one else. Believe me, I respect Barry, Sid, George and Baka enough that I don't feel I have to speak for them. If you don't like the fact that I replied to your allegations and questions, too fucking bad. If you don't want to hear the answer to a question, then don't ask it.
To the rest of you, I apologize for fanning the fire. Bill, I know you are going to reply to this post, so give it your best shot and say anything you want to. Twist what I said in any way you want to, tell me how wrong I am, call me some more names and swear a bit more at me. In my mind, you're not important enough to give a rat's ass. But realize that the rest of the members on this board can go back and read my posts. too. Have all the fun you want to because there will be no reply. If I did answer it would just get twisted into something I never said. So take advantage of it while you can.
By the way, this thread was a banning poll for SDVM. The poll is over. He wasn't banned. The thread should be done.
