Humidity Beads

I just got heartfelt beads 65rh. They work just fine. I don't have a lot in my coolidor yet so I don't have enough in there to buffer the humidity very well. Consequently my humidity is a bit high 72 or so, but it has decreased now to 67rh. I think part of my problem is that I wet the beads too much. If you wet them only wet half of them. But the beads have worked out great. I know they are a bit spendy, but you only have to buy em once. I have no complaints about the beads from heartfelt at all. They work wonderful. Roger.

If you do this it's very important to keep a stable temperature.

yeah, I have heard that too, the only problem is that plastic still does not hold onto the humidity so when you open your coolidor the humidity usually swings a bit. It is best to have the cooler lined with spanish ceadar or have some quality spanish ceadar boxes in the coolidor to keep the rh maintained. I need to get some better boxes since I have only paper coated boxes.

If you want to sop up moisture put them in dry. Making a thinner layer increases the surface area, so I'd think they would keep up better. The heartfelt beads do a find job.
