Well stop apologizing already. A simple, "I'm sorry guys, I shouldn't have stuck my nose into something I didn't know anything about" would have been sufficient. A page long apology is way over the top. Just let it go, move on, and do other stuff. You'll be on probation with these guys till your character is established so don't dwell on it.
