Alright, I worked on this last night and finished it this morning. With input from other members (always looking for more input) I have decided to shitcan the individual holders. They were mostly for asthetics, but I was worried without them or trays, if it would be okay for the cigars to sit on top of each other all the way up the interior ofthe box (minues a tray or two). I've changed what I'm thinking and thanks to Buzz, found some trays that measure 12" x 7.5" x 2.25" According to the website, each tray will hold 30 cigars (I know, probably not accurate) but, with that in mind and with the current dimension configurations of 48 of those trays, I can hold 1440 cigars in this humi. Now, that's not accounting for humi beads or anything else. I'm thinking of getting a couple of the blue cap humi bead tubes (65% Rh). If I had say, 250-300 cigars in there, how many of those blue cap tubes do you think I would need? I've looked at the calculator and it says that I need 11 ounces of beads. Do you think that with 11 ounces my cigars will stay moist enough?

    Thanks everybody!

Also, here are the new sketches of the humi. Happy Smoking!

It never hurts to go over the amount required regarding beads, and actually is beneficial as less "recharging" should be required.

That is a heck of a lot of trays to sort through when you're looking for that one specific cigar. I haven't looked at them, but I can't imagine 48 trays will come cheap.

yeah, I was looking at the price of the trays (you can buy in bulk) but it's still going to cost me over $300 for 48 of 'em. So the questions now is: Do I divide up the bottom and section it off and just stack cigars and have maybe two or three shelves on top? I'm not sure where to go from here... anybody have any ideas?
    Thanks for looking everybody!

Have you thought about using a couple drawers at the bottom and then having a couple trays on top? I'd use an extra tube of beads like Jamie suggested.

Drawers... damn, wish I'd thought of that... well, guess that means back to the drawing board.

By the way...oops, just figured out who mrtr33 is... now I understand. I apologize for not giving you the proper credit, mrtr33.

For the price of the trays I would recommend the drawers also. The important part (and difficult part) will be getting the drawers to seal up properly. Best of luck to you, I wanted to do something like this also but my laziness caught up to me and I just bought a cooler.
