Congrats Will, I love dogs that retrive well - they are such a blast to hang out with.
Nice! All my dogs are "rescues". They make the best dogs IMO. I really believe they know what you did, and appreciate it.
Try to refrain from feeding it microwaved chicken. The bones are really bad for them.![]()
I definitely see the Shepherd with the long black snout and long tongue. She's a beauty! Is the cat warming up to her at all?
The cat? Not really. I think it's going to take a while.
I guess she' slightly less on edge when she sees her, but if the dog gets within 10', watch out!

Awwwww go cute...but I feel the kittys pain. Maybe once you get the train set up they will find a common thing that they can chase.

LOL. Yeah.
I have noticed the dog being able to get in close proximity to the cat without major hissing and discontent. Also, the cat has started to venture downstairs a bit. I think that the cat, especially, is adjusting that this isn't just a temporary thing. They'll find a balance. I don't notice the dog being aggressive. Most of the time, she doesn't notice the cat. If she does, it's more of a curious / playful approach, but she does have about 40pounds on the cat.
Still, everyone has been clearly instructed to AVOID the cat if she's torqued. She whacked the shit out of me on Sat when I tried to calm her down in the presence of Molly. It's so weird. She goes back to normal cat as soon as the dog leaves the room.
I felt bad the other night. I got on the (needs to be refinished) couch which Molly is allowed to get on. I turned on some Pink Floyd, and was chilling with her. Prior to this, if the cat heard music downstairs at night, she would ALWAYS mosey in, find me and jump up for some petting. Well, she did the same thing, but didn't notice the dog on the couch with me. She got like, 2 feet away, and Molly woke up and just looked at her. FLASH, she was gone. Poor thing, I bet she felt supplanted.
Thanks for the compliments, all. She's fitting in nicely.

Molly is sure at full power now.
Tonight, at about 7PM, I decided to take kid-o and the dog out to experiecne -1. They both fared well, and while pushing the kid down the slope, I was thowing ball with Molly the whole time. About an hour. Molly, wasn't done.
Did bed-time, and came back down. Bundled up and thought I'd take Molly for a down for the count extended walk in all this. Nope. She trucked through that, and still did about another 30min of hardcore ball time. Still not tired.
What a beast. She's licking my boots now while I type this.![]()
