and I'm not sure about the former." -Albert Einstein
Welcome to the Site. You will find this is a great place!
"I Smoke in Moderation.... Just One Cigar at a Time." Mark Twain
I forgot to touch on the subject of your cigar smoking.
Be sure to hydrate yourself properly. Drink WATER and yes the typical eight glasses a day bit too. If you become the least bit dehydrated, it will throw off your taste perceptions. Even though you may not feel thirsty, you can be dehydrated. Coffee, tea, sodas, etc DO NOT COUNT. You must take in water. I mean don't make yourself sick. Just be sure to drink enough! Drink water when you smoke too.
Brush with a baking soda toothpaste. It helps rid your mouth of nasty acids that are produced by tobacco. "Cigar mouth" can ruin the taste of your cigars.
Don't eat foods that are screaming hot. Eat foods at a comfortable temperature. If you scald your mouth it will affect your taste perceptions.
Vitamin C Vitamin C VITAMIN C!!! (with bioflavinoids) - Vitamin B complex - I know, your beginning to wonder about MY sanity. But it's true. Tobacco in reality is a nasty toxin. Nicotine radically depletes your body of key vitamins, especially C. If you are deficient, you will have lots of nasty things in your body chemistry (saliva, tissues, etc) and they can affect your taste.
Relax. Stress affects how your cigar tastes. Also, as you have said, smoke when you really want one, not just because you can.
Proper cigar storage. Too high of an rh% will make a great cigar taste acrid, flat, boring. Too low will make it harsh. 65 to 68% in my opinion is ideal for most. Your cigar will burn better and therefore taste better.
I'll take the pictures without cheese please.
