Just for clarification, this is a domestic Opus X, not a Cuban one... Do they make Cuban ones?... I wonder what a Cuban tastes like? ... ... Never had a non-domestic before. mmmmmm. ... ...![]()

No, Opus X are only made in the Dominican Republic.

If you are really worried about it I'd be happy to store it in my humidor for you. You can just tell me when to smoke it I mean send it back.

I'd like to chime in on this.![]()
I love opus x. I've heard of people not touching them for 4 or 5 years! I personally won't smoke the sungrown fuentes until they sit for atleast 6 months!
Aging opus is difficult for some, including me, because they are great cigars, although strong. If you age in the cello, I think it tends to keep the flavor more robust, and if you remove the cello, it tends to wear off after the months roll by, IMHO.
Opus isn't "hard to get" it's just people get to stingy with it, and then shops either limit it, and sell more to the usual customers OR gougers take nice people to the cleaners.
I recommend smoking one fresh, and then storing one for 6 months to a year. You'll see a difference.
Plus some burning issues have been due, in large part, to the extra oily wrappers these cigars have fresh out of the box. The longer it sits, the oils go into the cigar, and thus, making it tasty!![]()
i have way more than 5000 cigars....so a lot of my cigars are aging.....i agree with letting some cigars sit for a while....
i've heard guys say "the cigar i'll smoke today is one i bought 6 months ago...the cigars i buy today,i'll enjoy in 6 months"...
.....just don't get too anal about it....if you feel like smoking a particular cigar in your stash...do it...
btw,i don't like opus x ...AT ALL........
