What cracks me up is my "mastery of the English language" is no better than some one in junior high school.

For instance, just yesterday jingles corrected my spelling of the word "alleged" (either on CigarPass or CigarSnobs). I honestly thought it was spelled "alledged" with that extra "d" in it, I've been spelling it that was for as long as I can remember. No one has ever brought this to my attention.

What's even funnier was that jingles was on the war path with me yesterday and pretty much only did this to try and shove it up my ass. and make me look foolish rather than in a friendly way.

Hey, I'm glad he did because now I know how to spell the freakin' word properly (and no one was paying attention to jingles anyway ) Did I throw a hissy fit? No, hell if I wasn't so damn mad at him I would have thanked him

For the longest time, I used to misspell "definitely" by using an "a" rather than an "i" in the middle, "definately" SamClemmons corrected me once by saying "There's definitely no "a" in definitely." A few weeks later, I made the same mistake and he told me again using slightly stronger language LMAO, I don't think I've spelled it wrong since!!

Hey, like Tommy said, when you're WRONG, you're WRONG and whining about it is absolutely ridiculous and so is making stupid excuses

Spell checkers are great BUT, they're not going to pick up errors like this:

    your, you're
    their, there, they're
    too, to

Again, I'm no expert on the King's English but I do know that anyone who has a fourth grade education knows (or should know) the differences between the wrods I cited above.

YOU may not care if you look like a sloppy moron but others might. For instance, would you wear a ripped tee shirt and blue jeans to a job interview for an office job?

    LMAO @ nhcigarfan!

Here's a quote from a very wise man:

See, that's exactly why I like being corrected. I can't stop being wrong even when I know I'm right.

    LMAO @ George!!

The funny thing is with wrum (ooooooops, I did it again ) okay, I'll admit, THAT time it was on purpose) when I first saw his screen name, I honestly thought it was "rum" with a "w" in front of it. So in the beginning, I was making an honest mistake but as I got to learn what a complete assholes this guy is, I really didn't feel compelled to take the time to make sure I was typing his screen name correctly.

Many times, people make up screen names that are not normal words in the English language and I get it in my head wrong and I make an honest mistake. The same thing happened here with me and Roham's screen name, I just got it in my mind that it was "Rohan."

Now as most of you know, Roham and I didn't exactly hit it off here when I first got here so when he barked back at me that I was spelling his screen name wrong and I wasn't very happy with him, okay, I'll admit, I started purposefully spelling it wrong just to get under his skin

Fortunately, we're all passed that and I dunno what Roham thinks of me but I think he's a good guy.

You would be surprised and disappointed.

I know exactly what the point of this argument is, I'm a member of two boards that discuss hockey goalie equipment, one has a reputation as a great source of knowledge and information, another is a bunch of illiterate 15 year olds posting garbage like "OMFG mA new Reebokz R SO fukin kewl!!!!111!!!"

The board's reputation does rest on the quality of the members' posts.

    LMAO @ Krautle87

They probably DO indeed know better BUT they think it's "Cool" to talk baby talk My guess is the problem with that is they FORGET how to speak and write properly due to prolonged posting like morons.

Can't really blame the schools for that one!
