Making a humidifer stick to a humidor lid...

Hi all,

Anyone got any hints on how to stick a humidifier to the lid of a small humidor.
The original came with a magnetic plate with 2 adhesive pads, I was careful to clean the lid (wooden) and stick it in place, but eventually it just fell off :(
Should i just get some double sided tape or...?

You could try double-sided tape or velcro strips. I use velcro on one of my boxes - easy on, easy off.

Velcro works for me. Home Depot has some good 3M stuff

I've had problems with the adhesive on the velcro giving way (due to the humidity?) and dropping the humidifier on the cigars. I have moved on to placing humidifiers on the bottom of the humi and this seems to work fine. I still looking for another solution though, and am considering using a (finagled) nut and bolt to hold the thing more securely.

I use the velcro that came with my heartfelt aluminum humidifier. Works great.

The cheap velcro that came with it fell off due to the humidity looseing the glue.I have since bought the good 3m stuff and all is good.
Plus in the beginning I was just useing distilled water and over humidified my box so I believe that caused it to come off at the glue.

A huge wood screw or 16d nail is all I use on my humidifying devices. stjohnroe I belive a bolt and nut is just plain overkill

Seriously some good advice about using name brand velcro,thats all I use.Never had any luck with magnetic tape ect ect

You could try gluing the velcro down and then letting it air out for a while to make sure there isn't any glue smell.

I did try using namebrand (3M) sticky back velcro but I still get the same problem, I am trying to get to the point where the humidifier is firmly attached but can be unscrewed.
